To say I'm a pizza snob is an understatement. It's been my go-to comfort food, cheat meal, easy dinner choice, you name it, for as long as I can remember. I even lost a tooth as a kid biting into a piece of pizza!
My love continues and a long-term relationship with John's Wildwood started in 2005 and has been going strong ever since. I've made specific trips to Edinboro from Pittsburgh after college just to get John's. There was a small period of time where I couldn't get my fix but then Erie Brewing Company (EBC) was opening a location with John's attached near my in-laws (and my future home) and it was taking our relationship to the next level!

I've converted several family members and friends to the"good slice" over the last few years. Most recently, my dad had the pleasure of enjoying John's when he was visiting in December!
Everyone has their own go-to pizza order. I've said it before but I keep mine pretty basic, cheese and pepperoni, you can't mess it up AND you can tell a lot about a pizza just by how good their basic pizza is.
Over the last few years, we've tried a few different toppings and variations. We recently leveled up the cheese + pepperoni combo and added ricotta. Best. Decision. Ever.

We all know that variety is the spice of life! We began venturing into white pizza. I was a little nervous because why mess up a good thing?!
Totally glad we did! The white pizza brings out something totally different. It's a bit lighter and veggie toppings taste better on the white than the red. Pro Tip: Add grilled chicken, too.

We started ordering two smalls, one of each, to have a slice or two of each.
But, you can't get John's without getting chicken tenders and waffle fries! [IYKYK]

It also helps that with all this deliciousness, some of it always comes home.
The bigger question is always: cold or reheated pizza?!
Details on something I ate:
Restaurant Name: Pub & Pie // Erie Brewing Company
Location: 6008 Knowlege Park, Erie, PA 16510
Item(s) Ordered: Small white pizza with tomatoes + grilled chicken, small pepperoni + cheese + ricotta, and chicken tenders + waffle fries (comes with two dipping sauces, ranch x2)
Price: $8.00 // per small pizza + $3.75 in additional toppings // $8.25 chicken tenders + taxes
Value: It's on par (price-wise) with other pizza places in the Harborcreek/Lawrence Park/Wesleyville Area. I think it's the best option in the area for hand-tossed, not frozen, pizza. [Disclaimer: I have always loved John's Wildwood pizza. #goboro]
Atmosphere: It depends if you take this to-go or if you stay and eat it in the brewery. We've done both and it just depends on what's going. For this visit, we stayed and enjoyed all this yumminess inside the brewery. I always love going to the brewery, especially when it's cold and snowing. The fireplace in the middle of the dining space is really relaxing and warm. In the summer, they open the patio upstairs and you can enjoy the summer sun!
It's typical to be busier during typical times; Mug Club night, weekends, and nights they have college specials. But, it's always a good thing to see local businesses having the "issue" of being too busy than being empty on the regular.
I have had to wait before and it's been totally fine! Grab something to drink and have a seat around the fireplace and chat. It's never been uncomfortable waiting. You can always look around the gift shop to help pass the time.
If you pop in and try something at Pub & Pie // Erie Brewing Company - Knowledge Park let me know!
Check back and find out if it was something I ate!
